After the success of the Halloween party, the Ethel Street events committee was founded. ![]() Since then the street has turned into a vibrant, brilliant community. “It was a bitter cold night and 50 people came. ![]() “We didn’t know if anyone would turn up,” she says. There wasn’t much life and energy.”Įmma, a full-time carer, ploughed on and organised the party anyway. “It was a down-in-the-dumps sort of place. They thought people did not want to get involved in community events.” The street – two rows of stone terraced houses in Neath, south Wales – had lost its heart, its spirit. She had married into the area and wanted to get to know her neighbours better. Emma Knight, then a new arrival on Ethel Street, had thought it would be a great idea if she organised a Halloween party. ![]()

(Including a quest! *Heart eyes*) There’s also a strong emotional journey for a number of the characters, especially after decisions that were made in the previous two books - and the consequences of those decisions. There’s a lot of action and adventure in this finale, right from the very beginning. The Blood Traitor is the third and final installment in your Prison Healer trilogy and it is out now! If you could only describe it in five words, what would they be? (I actually never intended for anyone to read Akarnae - I wrote that manuscript purely for myself, and it was only after I wrote the sequel that I realised I needed to share that series with the world, just so I could have people to talk to about it!) ![]() But it was when I started to work on my first book, Akarnae, that I fell in love with writing enough that it became something I couldn’t not do, even if no one ever read any of my books. My mother claims I was always making up stories, even as a young child, so I can’t give you an exact age. When did you first discover your love for writing? It’s been an amazing year, thank you for asking! Busy, busy, busy! Hi, Lynette! Thank you for joining us on The Nerd Daily again. Even the gravel was thin on the ground and the drive in worse shape than the country lane leading up from Keynsham. ‘What now, Captain?’ His groom tilted his head to inspect the clouds and Alan handed him the reins and jumped down, avoiding a muddy rut. ![]() The news that Albert Curtis had dropped dead in church in the middle of his sermon after recovering from a bout of fever was doubly unwelcome-now Alan would have to renegotiate the purchase with whoever inherited the house. The only problem was that he had no idea from whom. The estate had seen better days and with any luck would see them again, but first he would have to buy the place. It suited his mood and it certainly suited the gloom of the sooty stone and unkempt lawn of Hollywell House. It was fitting that each mile passed on the road from Bath had added a shade of grey to the clouds. Alan Rothwell, Lord Ravenscar, drew his team of black purebreds to a stop on the uneven drive of Hollywell House. ![]() 5/30/2023 0 Comments Pat the bunny by dorothy kunhardt![]() ‘You’ can play peekaboo, look in a mirror, feel Daddy’s scratchy face, read Judy’s book, and actually put your finger through Mummy’s ring.
